This is my final layout for project 2, I have started off with a small amount of triangles, fairly spaced apart that gradually get more compacted and overlap eachother. There are two layers of triangles, red triangles and black triangles, both are at 100 opacity. My first image expresses structure because the beginning trianlges are easily identified as triangles as they are not overlapping. My final image has many triangles overlapping making it hard to identify them as triangles which expresses noise.

DSDN 142 P2 - Background
I tried putting a pattern in the background and immediately did not like it, so i am not going to explore this technique any further as i feel i am taking a step backwards.

DSSN 142 - Stoke Test
I tried using a stroke around the triangles just as a test i feel it added much more noise and made the images look crispier but kinda drew the eye too much and distracted from the opacity.

DSDN 142 P2 - Third Attempt
I tried changing the background to black and replacing the black triangles with white triangles (kinda inversing) to see the comparison. I also tried removing the pink triangles and got a much smoother result.
DSDN 142 P2 - Second Attempt
I continued testing my program, i decided to add an extra set of triangles rendered with a different colour but not sure if I like it more than just with two colours.

DSDN 142 P2 - First Attempt
For my program I began experimenting with triangles overlaying eachother at different opacities and really liked the effect. I chose the colours red and black/grey because i really like the contrast between a bright primary colour and a plain shade (black/white).
DSDN 142 P2 - Precedents
I feel both these images express structure morphing into noise realy well because of their disintergrating effect.

DSDN 112 - Interm feedback
I presented my project to the tutors during the interm and received positive feedback. The tutors liked my overall idea for the magnet maze and had a few suggestions. Firstly they suggested elevating the maze allowing the coin to drop everytime the user goes the wrong way, this would make the maze a lot more difficult resulting in the maze taking longer to finish. Their second suggestion was to make the magnet more user friendly by prehaps taking apart the magnet and reforming it into something easier to use, or by simply attaching a handle to the magnet for users to hold. The last suggestion was to spice the maze up a bit for example incorporating fire into my maze giving it that extra effect, or by making the maze three dimensional. I will take these suggestions into consideration and hope to improve my project before the final submission.

DSDN 142 - Project 2 day 1
Pattern Maker
Started off with simple rectangles and then took away the fill but added different stroke colours and weights. Looks like pac man somehow.

DSDN 112 - Project Proposal
Project
Proposal
My interactive object is what I like to call a “Magnet
Maze” it consist of a cardboard maze, a coin and a magnet. The cardboard maze
is turned upside down so all you can see is a flat surface but the coin will
stick to the maze because of the magnet. The object is to get the coin through
the maze using the magnet without being able to see where the coin is going. I
have also drawn a maze on top similar to the real maze underneath but slightly different,
distracting the user into using their sight and thinking that it’s the correct
way to go when it’s not, forcing them to switch off there visual sense. I have
not yet decided if I should add more to my project or not, for example a reward
of some sort for completing the maze. I would also like to somehow integrate
more senses into my project as I only have visual and touch, but so far can’t
think of anything that would be suitable.
